Under The Influence,
What a perfect name because that's what I was in 1992 When this album was released. Perpetually in "Party Mode" With the Sounds of Babylon A.D., Trixter, Jackyl, and you can't forget AC/DC screaming in the background as we played quarters, or any other obnoxious drinking game we could fabricate at the time.
Along came Wildside, instantly added to our party playlist, I couldn't get enough of Drew Hannah's Magical, melodic vocals.
They came ragging out of the gate with the dirty, sleazy as hell, Hang On Lucy. This song made you want to get up and start acting crazy as hell because it's nearly impossible to sit still while Screaming the lyrics Hang on Lucy Hang on Tight!
Not only could Wildside Rock you straight to the bone but like ALL Rockers of that era their power ballads were some of the best I have ever heard and find myself singing "Kiss This Love Goodbye" to this day more often than I care to admit, they just stand the test of time.
Timing is everything when it comes to releasing an album and unfortunately few people were lucky enough to experience the full effect of Wildsides great contribution to the world of rock n roll.
Nirvana was sinking their evil teeth into our once wild, crazy, party til your dick falls out of your pants lifestyle.
Wildside just came a year to late to solidify their place at the top.
Wildside tried their hand at following the trend in 1995 but the album was not received well by the headbanger or the grung listeners, they just came across as confused on who they were.
Brent Woods Guitarist can now be seen playing with Sabastian Bach and Drew... well Drew is rumored to be in the porn business.
If you ever get the chance to own this album DO IT! You will not regret it one of the greatest out there Bar None! Under The Influence.
